Simacryl® ETH-231 is recommended to be used in textured paints or as a primary thickener in low viscose latexs, water-based systems, inks and detergents.
When the emulsion is dilluted with water and neutralized with a base, emulsion particles swell greatly so the emulsion clarifies under these conditions and its viscosity shows a significant increase.
Emulsion can not be reverted by reduction in pH.
Solutions, highly thickened by Simacryl® ETH-231 can easily suspend pigments and fillers, used in water based paints, inks or other coatings and the abrasive particles in waxes or polishes.
Protect from freezing.
Simacryl® ETH-231 exhibits good resistance to sagging, roller spattering and microbial attack.
It is also effective in improving low shear rate viscosity resulting in paints which have highly shear thining characteristics. it is also compatible with soaps, synthetic detergants and dispersants.
Its compatibility with polyurethane(PUR) and hydrophobically modified alkali-soluble emulsion(HASE) thickening agents results in reducing the amount of usage and consequently the final cost.
